Extra Curricular
'The school offers an exceptional range of clubs and activities.' (Ofsted, 2024)
Throughout the year, a variety of additional activities are available to children. Some of these clubs are free of charge whereas others are led by external providers and are chargeable. Keep an eye out for letters and further information regarding extra curricular clubs over the course of the year.
Sports Clubs
Below is a plan for the 2025/26 academic year for what sports clubs will be on offer to the children free of charge; this will be subject to change as we build relationships with local clubs and organisations.

Cross Country
Any child in Years 3, 4, 5 or 6 is welcome to join the Westways cross country team.
Training is on Thursday afternoons from 3:15pm to 4:15pm. Children must bring a suitable PE kit to school to run in on the day, including running trainers.
The Primary Schools Cross Country League is organised by the Sheffield Federation for School Sport (SFSS) and it involves schools from across the Sheffield area. The race meetings are held on Saturday mornings at 10:00am. We ask that the children register by 9:20am and all races are usually completed by 11:15am.
On race days, we will meet at the venue by the Westways flag at 9:20am. We walk the course and do a warm-up routine. There are four races at each meeting in this order: Y3/4 Girls; Y3/4 Boys; Y5/6 Girls; Y5/6 Boys. Letters with information about the morning will be sent out prior to each race via ParentPay and will also be available on the school website. Please be aware: you will need to accompany your child on race days and make sure they are registered with a member of Westways staff upon arrival.
