Admission into School

All admissions into school have to be processed through the Primary Admissions Team of Sheffield City Council – for more information click here.

Priority is given to pupils in the catchment area or families who already have other children in the school.  Increasingly our pupils come from a diverse area and we welcome these applications.

When allocated a place, parents will be invited to visit school with their child before the child starts school to discuss starting arrangements and to meet the class teacher and the Headteacher.

The majority of our pupils transfer to King Edward VII School at the end of Y6 although being a pupil at Westways does not guarantee a place at any secondary school.

At Westways, our School Business Manager (Rachel Wilson) manages admissions into F1. An F1 application form can be downloaded from the Documents and Policies section of the website and sent or returned to school or you can call at the school office for a form.

We warmly encourage any parent who is looking at schools for their children to come and look round the school by contacting the School office to make an appointment with the Headteacher.
